Hello everyone,
I am a new member of this forum and currently in my final year, completing my studies as an intern.
I am seeking help with a problem related to a project I am working on, which involves the use of Autrosafe (BSA-400A), an alarm system. Specifically, I am trying to use the AS-2000 tool to read my loops and create a new configuration file in Autronica's Autro config tool. However, I have been unsuccessful in connecting the com to my PC.
If anyone here has experience working with Autrosafe and has a solution to my problem, I would greatly appreciate your assistance.
Best regards, Bob

What operating system are you using, how are you trying to connect i.e. 232 Ethernet as far as I remember the connection is via 232 unless this has been upgraded, the last time I saw this being used the software required reccomended a 486 with windows 95 or NT

At present, I am utilizing Windows 10 and attempted to employ the identical tool on Windows XP through VMWare. However, I have not been successful thus far. The panel is connected through the 10-pin COM port, which is standard RS-232, as far as my understanding goes to my pc via serial to usb (please refer to the provided image).https://ibb.co/MfZJcLz

I know there can be problems with USB to com ports on later hardware, also it is possible that the specs on USB to 232 do not provide the correct connections like RTS etc. I keep a win 7 laptop with a real com port for those types of situations. Also some of the older USB/232 converter chips do not work correctly on modern hardware or software.

I remember in the Autrosafe certification that the instructor himself had a pretty specific RS232 converter precisely because it didn't seem to like any old converter off the internet, and this was in the good old days of windows 7 and no VMs used.

What converter are you using? Does the converter carry all the Serial signals as well? Or simply the Rx/Tx like many in the market do today?

you probably have the following cable in mind i`ve found: https://product.autronicafire.com/p...ction-systems/fg-system-units/cables/xja-027/

There is probably some weird serial converter in it as you were saying. I will look into this.

Now I have another problem with detecting the network structure, see the picture in the link below. I`ve connected a small loop of 2 points (manual call and a multi detect) to a BSD-310. It however wouldn`t see the loop provided. Any idea why this is?
