1756-DHRIO as adapter (not scanner)

I am updating an existing SLC to CLX. The SLC had a 1747-DCM adapter that was a slave to a PLC5 RIO scanner. Can a 1756-DHRIO card can be configured as an adapter? If so how?

The PLC5 is not my equipment and I would like to avoid modifying the configuration.
 
No, the 1756-DHRIO cannot be configured as a RIO adapter.

You will have to connect this ControlLogix to the PLC-5 in another manner.
