Win-911

Has anyone used TopView with a rather large SCADA system? To me it's rather large with about 4K alarms tags. We mainly use SMS and email for our alarms.

We currently have 2 different Win911 installs, one running Win911 2021 R6 (smaller system) and one running 4.21.5 (the larger system would not run on 2021). We had to downgrade on the larger system and haven't been brave enough to try the newest version, but judging by the way the 2021 interface runs on the smaller system, it still wouldn't be able to handle the larger alarm system.
It's my opinion that whoever wrote the software does not fully understand how to utilize the interface with a SQL backend. It's very inefficient. There is no reason that it should be as painfully slow as it is. We've also had occurences with it locking up and going hours without monitoring alarms.

I have been using WIN-911 Alarm Notification software for years with SCADA systems such as Wonderware and FactoryTalk.

WIN-911 revamped their application a couple of years ago. It used to be a simple, bullet-proof application. Since they revamped it, I have had nothing but trouble with it. It will stop working for no apparent reason. Users will need to restart the application's services in order to get it working again.

I have installed the new version at 4 different locations. All exhibit the same kind of unreliability. Is anybody else experiencing the same problems?
Tom Mac, the WIN-911 is unreliable and WIN-911 tech support is worse than the WIN-911 software. Hope you've find a better solution.

Win911 has bought Sytech (XLReporter) and now are a new combined company, Smart Sites or something like that. XLReporter used to be such a reliable piece of software I fear for its future now.

This thread is old and I don't mean to add to reviving it. However our newer win911 actually runs much better than our old v7 did. The old system would randomly stop seeing alarms or stop calling out. I feel the new interface is much easier to setup and navigate than the v7 stuff. Our entire system is rubbish so I still don't trust any of it and have a backup sensaphone dialer hardwired into the plc.

I have heard from a couple of integrators that they quit using win911 because it was so buggy. Maybe they had a rough patch and have fixed it now.

We also use xlreporter and I have been very happy with their customer support.
