Hallo,

I have Tia Portal V16 and I'm upgrading an older machine.
That machine has a component running on rs232. The machine has still the old I/o cards on an ET200 profibus island connect to a new plc.

The rsr232 is through CP 340 RS232C.

I want to read/write ofcourse. Would be nice to dumb the data in a DB.

I'm reading manuals/internet posts... and the tell me to use the FB 2
P_RCV and FB 3 P_SEND blocks.

they should be under instructions -> communication -> ptp-coupling:cp340 ... but those instructions are not there anymore?

I have a receive_p2p and a send_p2p instruction under the ptp instruction folder, but i don't have a lot of luck with using that one.

some has an idea?

best regards,
Wesley

Its a total new project.
Only the old i/o cards are being reused.

Its a new S7-1500 plc (1513-1) connected with profibus to ET200 i/o islands. On one island I have the cp340 rs232 card.

I can find the card in my hardware list in tia portal. I can add it to my rack, no errors. But I can't find the normal corresponding building blocks in my instructions.

thanks for the answer.

the 'slave' island has a IM 153-1, for ET 200M card, next to it is the CP 340 RS232C card after that some DI/DO cards.

If I understand you correctly I need to use the et200 instructions to work with the cp 340 card?

Can you control CPs in remote ET200m racks? I thought they used a part of the backplane that only exists in central racks, not via IMs.

My bad, I assumed the island was ET200S, now OP has clarified it is ET200M my posts are not relevant.
