Any solutions (low cost) for getting a Server Cabinet temperature onto Profinet?

A similar question was asked on the Siemens forum in 2019 and went unanswered, which leads me to believe that there is no cheap and easy method.

There are a number of commercial RTD or thermocouple transmitters that talk Profibus PA, but none that talk Profinet.

If you have a desire to get more data, like humidity.

I was thinkng rather than the truck option. A Logo PLC with analog (0-10v) and a 4-20mA temp Sensor + 470R resistor.

These are pretty cheap but unforunately not ProfiNet: https://www.tme.eu/en/details/nano-...l-networks/inveo/nano-temperature-sensor-poe/

You could convert to ProfiNet with: https://www.iiotzone.com/mgate-5103-series#mgate-5103 but might exceed your budget

Your own idea is probably the cheapest, but why not go for an 0-10v sensor.

Are you specifically running a profinet connection to the cabinet for this job, or is there something in there already using it?

The most basic Logo 8 is a square £100 here which is probably cheaper than most converters. I'm not sure if it speaks Profinet though and it's not in the device catalogue on TIA.
