Hi,

I have an Omron PLC (CQM1H-61CPU) connected to an Omron HMI (NT631C).

In order to connect a PC to them, I want to know:

1- Is the cable used to connect them (between PLC & HMI) suitable for this purpose (going online)?
2- Can I use an RS232 to USB converter cable which has a male SUB D9?
3- Can I use a null modem serial cable, which I use with AB SLC5/03?
4- Can I buy a generic RS232 cable (Male / Female)?
5- If any of the above wont work, I need a wiring diagram to make one.

Thanks.

Cable diagram is attached.
You cannot use the cable between the PLC and HMI for transfer.

You should be able to use a USB to RS232 adapter.
Some work, some do not. FTDI chipset units tend to work.
Null modem and straight thru cable will not work.

Good Luck,
